How to use Quixess
Get started with the quick access launcher for macOS.
Getting Started
After launching Quixess, you'll see a new icon in your menu bar. Click it to reveal the launcher panel, or use the global hotkey Ctrl+Esc from anywhere.
Adding Items
There are several ways to add files, folders, and apps to your launcher:
Drag to Menu Bar
Drag any file, folder, or application directly onto the Quixess menu bar icon.
Drag into Grid
With the launcher panel open, drag items directly into a specific grid cell.
From Finder Services
Select files in Finder, then use Finder → Services → Add to Quixess or press Ctrl+Q.
You may need to enable this in System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → Services.
Organizing Items
Rearranging
Drag items within the grid to rearrange. Drop on an empty cell to move, or drop on another item to swap.
Removing Items
Right-click any item and select Remove from the context menu.
Resizing the Panel
Drag the edges of the launcher panel to resize. The panel snaps to fit complete grid cells.

Tips
- The launcher panel position and size are remembered across app launches
- Thumbnails are generated using QuickLook for high-quality previews
- Click anywhere outside the panel to dismiss it
- The panel floats above other windows so it's always accessible
